Bought out in Lakeland a couple of years ago. Really like the area and got a lot for the money. Already incorporated so no city taxes. Arlington is nice too but a little less convenient to the interstate. Fayette county is really growing too, but you almost have to do the private school route out there.

I agree. Lots of foreclosures in those "posh" neighborhoods along Byhalia too. I just bought north of Poplar, behind Baptist Hospital, and feel very confident in my investment after researching the area for almost six months. We rented first and I'm glad we did.

So far, we really like Collierville. We looked extensively in Olive Branch, Southaven, Fayette County and the Arlington/Lakeland areas but seemed to always return to C'ville. Each of these areas had positives (although I was surprised to learn MS is a non-disclosure state) and we could have been happy in any of them. But we're putting roots down in Collierville and are comfortable about our decision.

And Albie, Collierville ain't no Eagle River, that's for sure. At least we have the pictures and memories of our four wonderful years in the Last Frontier. What a wonderful place! We would go back in a heartbeat were it not for my parent's failing health. Alaska is just too far away from that situation right now while Collierville is just close enough.
