Thanks for the jumpseat, FedEx
#1
I jumpseated on the SAN-MEM A300 Monday night, and had one of our Cargo forum's active members in the left seat. Thanks again for the ride, you-know-who!
Was given a mini-tour of ops upon arrival by one of my fellow jumpseaters, and was treated well by everyone (thanks for that great popcorn in ops!).
Great crew back out to DFW the next afternoon as well. FedEx takes good care of their offline jumpseaters... and allows their own pilots to wear jeans and sneakers on board their jets-- how cool is that?
Thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback. Jeans goes for everyone, but it's only the offline 'regulars' that I ever see dressed casually.
From our FedEx Reciprocal Cockpit Offline Jumpseat (OJS) Guidelines(which are supposedly supplied to other carriers),
"FedEx ramps require safe and reasonable dress policy. Appropriate footwear and attire are required to ride the jumpseat. Appropriate dress allows for casual attire such as athletic shoes and blue jeans. Inappropriate clothing, such as t-shirts, shorts, high heel shoes and sandals, will result in denial of the jumpseat. No one is permitted to travel with facial hair other than a moustache."
Also, if you're on a Bus, feel free to bring a thermorest, sleeping bag, or other comfort items. It's our version of the First Class Lie-Flat bed. Beware, though, it's cold down there on the floor.

And all the seat cushions make for a nice mattress, at least its more comfy than the floor!

If for some reason TSA ever gets the Int'l thing fixed, I'd be a regular.

I have always enjoyed having off line jump seaters. We owe the pax carriers! One word of advice - please call 24+ hours in advance to start a file in your name. 800/544-9040
The file can always be started, just in case you need us late at night into a city with bad weather and too many pax trying to do the same.
I'am on vacation, what am I doing reading on line?

I always keep APC up so when my wife walks in the room I can deselect the porn. Try it sometime.
