Yeah, Im about as laid back as they come but this whole early thing is getting old.

Im in no hurry to go do a 5+hr hub sit so someone other than the pilots get a stockin stuffer.

Im sick of legacy complaining about pay!

While belittling other airlines negotiating tactics. “Oh we dont picket here.....we dont strike like abx......we dont buy billboards”

“we dont, we havent, we cant, etc etc” those comments = YOU WONT

Take your paycheck and smile and stop whining. Someone is putting out a OMNI payscale and all the legacy guys are wetting thier pants. If you do get a pay raise its because you freeloaded off the back of crewmembers that flew by the book, didnt carry planes, didnt leave early, and used everything in a crewmemebers aresanel.

1) You were lied to when hired. just like the newbs are now...”New contract any day now”...yeah yeah

2) It will BE A L O N G T I M E before we get one so you potential newbs take note of this.

-why because yeah we have a bunch on the seniority list that are going to move planes 30 early and carry whatever logbook they need have

-Some here simply don’t know. I literally had a capt tell me we make more or as much as Atlas. I mean seriously how do we deal with that?????

-The people here that have experience at pushing back are all “actively” trying to punch out or already in pools

- mediation can drag on for years unless its made painfully clear the group wont accept that. You must be willing to chain the doors and move on. The company will drag on as long as possible and reap the rewards of the industries lowest labor cost.

On the one hand: creative, funny response to a crudity. Gave me a giggle.

On the other hand, maybe a tad too revealing about one's familiarity with pay-for-play?

I good friend that works for a real airline and makes a real paycheck made me promise I would respond with this. He just reads and doesnt post. Good thing because he’s never sober reading this site (his theory below)

An escort is nothing to be frowned upon for she is a professional and puts a value on the quality of her work and condition of her equipment much as we do. Just like airlines you pay for newest equipment and the advanced training required of its proper, efficient and safe operations.

On the other hand, are those that are too lazy to spend the money themselves and require you to purchase everything they want. If you decide to over purchase this is not taken as a simple tip. No, instead its taken as an offer to move in. Like a scab who sneaks around picket lines in the shadows for the betrayal of others. They slowly begin to take possession of all that you have worked, sacrificed and bled over. Rather than negotiate they chain the doors. Next they bring in another to enjoy the fruits of YOUR labor, someone that had worked for nothing and built nothing!

As you stand there on a cold rainy dark ramp you must consider what would have been the better choice. You think to yourself looking back at an honorable career at a major airline of all the things you could still have if only you would have chosen the humble professional.

Wish you all blue skies and tailwinds

Capt Mark ########

(a) No person may operate a civil aircraft
unless it is in an airworthy condition.
(b) The pilot in command of a civil
aircraft is responsible for determining
whether that aircraft is in condition
for safe flight. The pilot in command
shall discontinue the flight when unairworthy
mechanical, electrical, or
structural conditions occur.
