Any new information on what's happening at WGA?

Poor working conditions

Probably the worst in the industry. The really bad thing is they think it's ok and expect it. The management at WGA is truly disconnected from the standards of the industry now. Airlines like National and Eastern part 4, I think we're up to now, have different ideas of how to treat employees. Don't even mention Global X.

Western Global will always be Western Global. The Supplementals of yesteryear just morphed into new companies with later equipment. That is until I found Aerostan in Bishkek. A300B4 freighters AND B747-200s! They are looking for crew in all seats. Get that FE written up to date! Aren't all the Eastern guys that flew it dead by now?

There is literally no reason to go to one of those "carriers" unless you love flying in and out of China in the middle of the night. First question WGA asks is can you get a Chinese visa, ok great, you will be getting a Chinese visa.

Be careful what you ask Santa for Xmas, you may just get it.

Happy Holidays to all.

Doesn't sound great - are you referring to National & Eastern as "better than" or "just like" WGA?

Good morning ladies and gents,

Can someone who is currently flying for WGA, holding a green card and residing in the U.S. send me a private message please? Thank you and fly safe.

Hired

I start learning the MD-11 on April 28th. Does anyone have any tips or advice for class? Anything you think would have helped you when you first started? (I'm looking for information on training, not career guidance. I've read the previous posts.)

If driving is anywhere near feasible, I recommend having your own car there. I was in the October class from last year and it was nice not being reliant on the hotel shuttle. As for the training itself, it's the same as any other training course: chairfly, learn your flows and callouts, learn the systems, etc. They do a pretty good job of feeding the information to you a little at a time. Make sure you're being proactive in looking ahead at what's going to be covered in the next sim and being prepared for that.

Thanks, vnoonan! Any training materials available on the internet that are helpful to new hires?

They'll give you what you need to know. Primacy. Learn it their way, not how some other company with a study gouge does it.
