Interstate BBQ is good -- one located in Southhaven (State Line Road, about a block west of Airways), and one on South 3rd in Memphis (just north of I-55). Started by Jim Neely. However, I prefer Neely's BBQ, started by his nephews, particularly the one located on Mt. Moriah. (That's about a mile past the old Platinum Plus for you commuters. ;))

There's a cure for that, y'know. When your double Corky's starts kicking in, you start chuckling, and your F/O goes for the mask, just hope one thing:

He doesn't have any orange tic-tacs in his flight case.

If he does, and he pops 5-10 of 'em, in 20 minutes you'll be slowing down to the foot and opening the window. Over the ETP. At altitude, it's a physiological freak of nature.

We could win the Iraq war on that stuff. :D

I'm wit TonyC; Neely's off of Mt Moriah is some d@mn good BBQ, although I'm partial to NC BBQ since that's what I grew up on. Thanks for the other listings of the BBQ joints guys, it'll give me something to do when I get stuck in MEM.

The Germantown Commissary is good but their chocolate silk pie is what I really like there. The only other woman to make a chocolate pie that tastes anything like that was my mother.

Tops BBQ

I think the pulled pork at Tops BBQ in MEM is, well, tops in my book. :)

They keep coming by with large cuts of BBQ beef brisket, Ribs, Chicken and Ham.

Same as Neely's Interstate on 3rd, without the bad neighborhood or bars on the windows! ;) They are also in the NW terminal, I think right next to B16 where the RDU flight leaves from. It always smells so good when I'm jumpseating home.:D
