You may get your wish. There’s a reason for the hiring spree

Pumped I’m being considered.

I always had much respect for the flying you guys do. When we were “too good” for some of the stuff back in the day. K4 was like. We’ll take that. And grabbed those deals and made some $$

I think you guys have a hustlers spirit. When the next downturn hits, there will still be freight to haul and I’m sure K4 will get their fair share.

Would like to be part of it

I hope to be in the front part of that too. Sounds like a great place to work!

So on another note....is the 16 on 14 off the only schedule? I have read other things but not sure if I read it correctly. Thanks!!

Some schedules have a few days on at the beginning, days off in the middle, rest of the days on towards the end. So depending how you bid into the next month, you could have 2,3,or 4 weeks off straight, or always have the middle off, etc. Always work the first half, or second half. Schedules vary monthly, next month had slim pickings for second half.
If you don't get what you want, the company is pretty good working with you to adjust. This place really has nothing in common with the regionals way of doing things.

Sounds pretty good! I appreciate the help. Sometimes it is tough to navigate through all the info out there. It is good to get straight up answers.

If you want 7-9 hours of uninterrupted info come out and jumpseat to BRU or LEJ and back out of CVG or head up to ORD or ANC and ride to Asia and back. The crews will talk all you want and you can see the operation. We hardly ever get jumpseaters and most guys roll out the red carpet for those that do ride with us.

I am a very recently upgraded E145 captain, and everything I have read and ‘soul searched’ lends me to believe that Kalitta would be a great fit for me and my family. My concern is that I am very low time, and I fear that by the time I am competitive from an hours perspective, I will have missed the boat as it seems the pilot group is young and attrition is minimal.

I would apply, but I don’t yet have 500 jet PIC, nor was I military trained - I of course don’t want to be deceitful on my application.

Just apply. They are hiring like mad, so some requirements may be waived.

Plus...Fedex, UPS, ABX (frozen now a DC based on gross) and many pax carriers...
UPS has an A plan that is more like a thankyou forking here cash payout. Something like 4000 times years of service and taxable.

ABX is frozen as you say.

Delta has no A plan
United has no A plan
A retirement plan is a plan that sends you a check or direct deposit on a scheduled basis. Like a PERs system.

Defined benefit plans also did very poorly but those withdrawing were often protected from this down turn although not in every case. Just ask the many workers (including airline employees), who saw their retirements vaporized. Many of the public sector retirement plans are also in danger as the outlays can not keep up with tax receipts. Essentially they are public sector Ponzi schemes.
"Only" is a big word when talking about a defined savings plan like a traditional IRA or 401K. Millions were forced by the Internal Revenue Code mandatory withdrawal requirements to "take" money from their plans.
