No time soon. They plan to use them in Europe first.

Heard the new head of 757 Standards wanted ALL of the initial 757 IOE training to be conducted in the states - did not want brand new LCA's teaching IOE to brand new 757 Captains/FO's in Europe........

The Airbus's can stay in SIBA a little while longer in my opinion.

back to my Crown-N-Coke!

What incentive do the guys with the experience in Europe and Intl ops have? Go back to NB pay? The guys they want as LCA's etc are on the Light Twin and the Mad Dog.

Past....

Here's a question.... What if the new China domicile really stinks and the Subic guys bail, would the base be "junior manned" (i.e. the bottom X A300 guys get shipped off, or would the bottom guys on the whole seniority list take it in the shorts regardless of current seat)? This of course assumes no hiring because of 65 rule deal.

That possibility makes those 20 Airbus slots less inviting.

No Shenzen for this dog... might not make it out alive. Oh wait, that's Korea, nevermind....

I do not think they can force you an FDA if you do not want.
If it was a SIBA type bid (which it appears is not the case) you could be involuntary assgined SIBA.

If they cannot fill vacancies with a Standing BID (like what happened in ANC) they will probably have to put new Hires over there..........

We will just have to wait to see what the company plans to do.

Will FedEx do the right thing?
Will FedEx do what most other Corporations do for their Expat employees?
Will they give a Housing subsidy?
Will they pay a COLA for China and Europe?
Will they help out with School tuition?
Will they pay overrides for TAX issues?
Do they want experience crews over there?

Time will tell. We can always Call our ACP's and express our concerns!

That would make sense that they can't force you into an FDA but they could force you into a SIBA situation. That makes it a little more attractive.

Thanks RedEye

Sorry, I guess I should have made it more clear. I was more thinking of the FO side. Because someone somewhere will take it in the shorts for a Captain position.

I wonder ... why couldn't they just assign new hire classes as A300 f/o based in China / 757 f/o based in Europe? Why would that be any different than ... say MD-11 f/o ANC?

They certainly can do that Mark. If they feel they don't need experienced crews over there. Maybe that is why the hiring has been turned off for now.

That might be exactly what happens if current guys don't bid it.

Again, we can only wait and see which path the company will choose.
The right way.............or the alternative.
