I understand that Omni has bent some metal and that Kalitta had 3 crashes in one year. They’re not without their own skeletons. I’ve said this before, but this sounds like a Comair discussion from before 5191. We cost more, but we’re worth it because of our safety record and experience level...southern will probably be at one of those job fairs held at a musty sim center near you!

You’ll have no life outside of work with a schedule like that but it works for some.

How is that possible? Section 26 Scheduling is still being phased in through May. It is still 20 day lines, travel on day 1 & 20, but days 18,19, and 20 are above the CBA/LOA max so they pay 2,4,6 hours above guarantee. Take a 20 day line of 100 hours + DH + the 2,4,6 and you’re already at approximately 115 hours. Throw in another 10-11 days of involuntary extension and some more 4 crew flying = 250 hours.

I could care less if Atlas pilots post on Southern threads. Just don’t blow your credibility by posting falsehoods.
I did not specify: Pay based on min guarantee...

Class sizes on the 747 were 28 pilots. 747/767 class sizes have been cut in half, because they have lately been only about half full...

Not sure about 777/737 class sizes or the no show rate there.

Southern 737 base is CVG. The new Southern 777 bases are CVG and LAX.

National just got at least one A-330 pax bird.
Atlas is adding a 747 pax bird later this year.

I think 5 showed for the latest 777 class.

Just heard:
Eight for newest 747 class.
Five for newest 777 class, but two of them already left, so now at three.
Five for newest 767 class.

It was reported to me today that the Southern new hire failure rate is at approximately 60%. I knew it was high but not that high. I am still trying to find out the time frame used to measure this failure rate.

I have heard the Atlas failure rate is at 30% as reported to me in the past few weeks. Also shockingly high.

Are there any instructors on here that can confirm if these reports are true?

Hi wash rates- Feds now very active with check rides and orals.

I’ve heard having a failure on your record is good thing!! Come on over and get one for yourself.

Essentially- this is the result of many incidents and accidents.

The Feds will be extremely involved in your training, and when in doubt- the instructor will fail you. No more “learn it on line”.

3 out of my class busted their rides. Two of us passed it. 5 total in my class. That’s the 60%.
Company retrained then and then they retook the ride and passed.
