Every airliine has a system.....Take the one that has a class date....systems don't pay the bills.

That double negative is going to be skimmed over by the fast readers and give the wrong impression of you feelings. Sort of like " Paris in the the Spring" if you've seen that perception demonstration.

I hope I dont swim too long either....Im not very good at it!!!!
There are lots of things going on in the industry, not the least of which is the impending change to the retirement age. That has the potential to make those pool waters VERY stagnant. You have a bird in the hand. I don't feel you really have any choice but to go with SWA.

First I consider myself extremely fortunate to have THIS kind of decision to make. Here is the problem, do I take one of the other job offers and leave when UPS calls with a class date or keep waiting for the phone to ring?

I know how long some people have been in the pool at UPS, a2b boxhauler and others. Not sure why this happens, but it does. I have been in the pool a short swim in comparison to others, around three months. I haven’t figured out how they determine who starts when, but several people already started class or have class dates that interviewed after I got the letter. I also seem to have what UPS is looking for "Heavy, International time".

I know lots of people here have been placed in hiring pools before. Just wondering how you would deal with this. I appreciate any advice or funny comments.

BTW if you are wondering why don’t I just keep my current job? just separated from AD.
I find it hard to believe that you would even consider SWA after bashing me about them on another post.

Default My experience says that isn't the right answer

Regardless of your decision, good luck in your career.
I was fortunate enough to receive a job offer from CAL prior to my interview with FedEx. In an effort to do the “honorable” thing, I requested that my class date be postponed. The person who took my phone call at CAL indicated that it wouldn’t be a problem, but I received a phone call a couple of hours later from the Chief Pilot. The chief pilot had a very short and to the point conversation with me that ended with him withdrawing CAL’s job offer. My advice is pick just pick one and go hang out until your number one calls.

Best of luck,
SeeDub

Are you serious??!! How was I "bashing you"? The other post has nothing to do with this one....this one is about advice on my situation from some people that have been around for a while and probably been faced with the same problem....the other was about reservists using drill pay to augment the usually very low pay of a probational employee.....

BTW...that is exactly what this post is about....I dont want to take a potental job from someone like you at SWA or CAL when I really want to work somewhere else for the next 35 years and would leave when I get the call to start class....SWA is an awesome place, good luck in your interview!
