Amazon expansion thread

I thought the new Amazon ramp in CVG was just for 100 aircraft. But, it also includes a massive office building. After they are done with this, they will start on the North ramp, that will park about 200 aircraft. Rumour is in a few years (about when the 2nd ramp is completed) that Amazon will take over the whole DHL property in CVG. I guess DHL could move back to Wilmington...

I think Amazon will copy DHL’s business model of buying large (controlling) shares of other airlines without having to start their own airline. This ‘whipsaw’ airline model has proven very successful for DHL. Time will tell.

I believe Amazon Prime will use DHL’s business model of buying large shares of other airlines as opposed to starting their own airline (the way fdx and ups did).
This will allow them to keep their operating costs down. Once they (Amazon) start carrying non-amazon cargo, and one day they will, all the bets are off.

I didn’t plan on leaving anything out. I merely copy and pasted wikipedia’s summary of DHL. I think you misunderstood my point.
