It perplexing…. Back in the day, if I had the chance to fly a new 19 turboprop single pilot IFR, instead of a trashed out 1900 or metro in the same environment for 10-15k more first year….. I probably would have. Not dying from inflight breakup is worth at least something.

Default MIA base

For those in the know:

Will there be any hiring for the MIA base?

Any idea as to when the next class date will be?

Because everyone wants to live in MIA on what they pay.

There are some squared-away looking homeless types in So Beach. Maybe they are pilots?

Always hiring for Miami. The base run is in the ATR 121 ops.
Cost of living incentive 25k. So first year FO 85k can make 100k easily working
your PTO. If you choose the 408 then there is no base and thus will be a floater.
That starts 70k PIC.
Classes every month

It’s a senior base. Captain has been there for 20+ years.
Fly to RDU around 730 get to the hotel around 845. Show up
at 5:30am next day back in ILM around 8-9am. Monday-Friday.
Because there is only one route there you would probably be a floater
ie: Live in ILM but cover other runs during the week and back home
during the weekend.

What are the routes from MIA look like?
Monday to Friday?
Any overnights?
Do you check in to a hotel in the out station and then come back to MIA?

yep, Mon-Friday weekends off. Every 4th week off. Routes are to Nassau bahamas and Freeport.
Stay in a ocean front hotel during the day. Back in Miami around 8-9pm.
