Airline analyst asked a question during the 3rd Quarter results and made a statement about the current ATSG leadership. Regarding the lack of experience to grow the company. It was spot on and ATSG stock dropped almost immediately after the question and lack of response from those representatives of ATSG was deafening. Why anyone would apply to work at ABX, ATI, or Omni is beyond comprehension.

Your analysis is correct though. It becomes obvious fairly quickly that it isn't a career destination.

I really needed a job and they gave me one. I've moved on thanks to the contacts I made and I'm happier for it. It was a privilege to be able to be a 767 captain in less than a year. I'm glad I was able to scratch that itch.

Glad you got in and out with the quick upgrade for the resume boost. As long as the majors continue hiring gangbusters it can be justified, but I feel bad for those who spend too long anywhere like that.for whatever the reason.

[QUOTE=JohnBurke;3726037]You may want to get more familiar with the meaning of that word.
You made a false statement. Fix it.[/QUOT=

Stop assuming that everybody wants what you want and that we're somehow disadvantaged because we choose to work for a company with a name nobody recognizes. I get the days off I want, I fly with good people, I enjoy my work, and I make a ridiculous amount of money while I'm at it. Unlike a lot of people in this industry, my happiness and job satisfaction are not predicated on being employed by a big name with a big contract. People who want something else should go get it. But don't try to tell the rest of us that we're slumming because we don't do the same.

I don't need your sympathy, Hawaiian dude.

Most likely has a bunch of skeletons in the closet and can't leave to go to legacy passenger or purple/brown where he would work less and make more money.

Interesting, whitty, intellectual argument. Disagree with what the man has to say, and the proper response is to attack his character.
It's what people do when they have not a leg to stand upon, or the ability to enter the fray.
Why would one make the assumption that the natural path for all pilots is a legacy carrier? If someone does not rush to a legacy, there must be something wrong with them. They are broken. They are incompetent. They have a track history of failures. What is this person's defect? They're not normal. They must be discredited. Take them down a few notches. Perhaps all the way, so no one listens to them. God forbid anyone follows their example. The only path is to the legacy airlines.
Believe it or not, and clearly you two don't, there are a number of pilots who enjoy home basing, who hate to commute, who like freight, who enjoy flying at night or doing ACMI flying, and who are quite happy with low blood pressure, taking their two weeks at home without being disturbed, and who don't feel a clarion call to enter the rat race.
If this offends you or eludes your capacity to understand, that's just tough, isn't it?
