UPS-IPA talks break down

UPS-IPA talks break down
IPA hotline message, clipped
The basic problem is this: UPS is hiding behind certain terms of a deal
currently being discussed at Federal Express. In some areas, FedEx ALPA
is now asking for less than terms already agreed to in the UPS/IPA
talks.
So, is UPS simply seeking the FedEx contract? No. UPS is selective in
the FedEx portions of the contract they would like to apply to this
pilot group. UPS is not willing to step up to the FedEx plate in a
number of important areas. In other words, now into our fourth year,
UPS management has not changed their pursuit of an inferior contract for
the pilot group. Now into our fourth year, the Company continues to
play games with our families and careers.
Now is the time to end the game. The Executive Board will meet in
special session this week. The purpose will be to make a decision on
the issue of a release from mediation and the timing of any such
request.

ALPO has destroyed so much in this industry. Worthless and his get-along gang are useless cowards hiding in their big offices, protecting nothing. And our friends in MEM should be ashamed of themselves. They certainly cannot ask for much because their countless mistakes (while doing their jobs) wouldn't warrant it.

But how do you really feel

Show your commitment and solidarity with your votes...your COMPANY is witholding your dream contract...not the FedEx pilots, nor FedEx ALPA.
I sincerely hope you guys get everything you want and deserve. Sounds like now's the time to put your money where your mouth is and cowboy up!
Keep the Faith!

I predicted this would happen yesterday on this board (read: UPS Talks Resume). UPS goes after FedEx Retirement and unknowingly, opens up pandoras box on compensastion. Oooppps!!! Its bad news, believe me.
Our biggest advantage here is that we are 99.6% unified. The Teamsters are 100% behind us and although this may take a while, We will eventually prevail.

What do you mean by "in the dark?" The EB is under an NMB gag. If you have been reading Tom's weekly hotlines and the IPNN, you should be as informed as can be expected. Most pilots I know aren't in the dark. Sure we don't know specifics, but since when does any pilot group at this stage?
