New Email From JL

Chill a little
Is Jack-I'll kiss any O ass still on a seniority list. What is his position? Why do we have to listen to him tell us we don't have any special skills but he and the other ACPs do and are entitled to better packages than you lowly line swine. By the way did you know Jack was an O-6 and could not make O-7. No matter how deep he buried his tongue. What a master at ****ing on the troops boots and humoring with his bull sh_t.
Dude,
I believe JL was a pretty good Chief Pilot. Negotiations as of late may have jaded his reputation, but he was always a straight shooter. Personal attacks like yours don't really produce didly squat except a hightened emotional environment. How long have you been with the company?
The LOA is unacceptable. I wish we had access to email the entire pilot group with our concerns as he does. Either way, we need to communicate our concerns and trust they are heard. We also need to educate the pilot group through boards like this, the crew bus, and other avenues available. My guess is the vote isn't going very well for the company, and they have enlisted the help of those like JL with a voice and a medium through which to project it. Keep up the education, vote no on the LOA, and engage in mature dialogue to draft an LOA or contract that takes care of our brothers and sisters.

Trap,
Don't take this the wrong way b/c I'm just springboarding off your post as a general message, but what you just said is part of the problem around here. When it comes to what we are talking about here, who cares if JL was a good CP or not or a straight shooter? It matters not. The man himself said it in plain english that this issue is just business, not personal. It must be treated as such by us as well. Doesn't mean that I or anyone else should hate JL or tepee his office, but we can't bring personal emotions or opinions into this. Don't believe me? Look no further than JL's email itself and it will tell you the same.

JL resign your ALPA membership. You should be ashamed to still be claiming it. You stood across the table and negotiated against the real ALPA members during the last contract while at the same time ****ing on the members boots and telling them it was raining. Your old Navy buddies might buy it because of your cute little emails but the rest of us don't. Now your telling them they don't have the special skills like an ACP has to get decent housing, living, child, and general expenses. What are you? An over 60 FE?, A Cpt like Cheever in Test? Go away loser. You could not suck your way to the top in the Navy, and you're not going to suck your way to the top here. Go home.

JL's a good man and frankly I trust him more than I trust some of our MEC leaders. Heck, his email should have been written by DW but we are sorely missing something in that area.
Give up his ALPA membership? What do you want to be like IPA and have all managers be non-members? These discussions are getting ridiculous - sometimes you have to take things at face value and JL hasn't proven wrong on this yet. I'm not willing to throw away all common sense and negotiate on your terms. If it were up to some on this board, there would never be any negotiations. Thing long term here and the future of FDX ALPA among other things.

Walstib
an acronym for a quote in the Grateful Dead song, 'Truckin'. the letters stand for the line "What A Long Strange Trip It's Been". Also an affectionate phrase stated between fellow hippies.
"Remember the shrooms we did that one night? Wow. WALSTIB" (the phrase is often fully stated, while the acronym is usually displayed on stickers, license plates, etc.)
