My app has said Active since the last hiring window (the one with the oceanic requirement). I never recieved an assessment e-mail. Talked to an HR guy and he said 'just stay patient and call me anytime to check on your stuff.' What determines getting the assessment mailed to a candidate? If I'm qualified under the last window - do I need to attempt to apply again?

I think you get the assessment when the computer "randomly" picks you for an interview.

I have been told the same thing... its all random once you are in the "hopper" of qualified folks.

Good Luck!

I think that may be true if your file is "active". If you are merely "on file," I doubt you are being considered...

So does anyone REALLY know the difference between "on file" and "active" and how you get one or the other? My husbands said "on file" after he applied. He has almost 1300 PIC, 3000 TT, SIM/IOE instructor, anyone know if this is competitive? Thanks!

Unless he's military or prior mil his times still sound a little low compared to most civilian only new hires...the instructor time will help though. The process is so crazy these days, you never know, he may be called tomorrow.

Did anyone else get a "thanks for your interst, but the position has been filled " email? Got this a few weeks ago and have reapplied, but not allowed to update hours.

I would say if he is civilian, he needs about 2000 more hours TT. I really think you become truly competitive around 5000TT.
