Apparently this option was on the table but did not make the final cut but was not removed from the implementation appendix.

Is that right?

General Implementation Appendix and Timeline

2006 FedEx Pilot Collective Bargaining Agreement

This appendix sets out the timeline upon which each of the changes in the Tentative Agreement will be implemented following ratification. Items which are specifically referenced in the contract as having a later implementation date are not repeated in this appendix and will be implemented on the date specified in the Agreement. In the main table, all dates indicate that the particular provision will be implemented not later than the date stated. In the programming sub-appendices for work rules, (Sections 4, 12 and 25), and retirement and insurance (Sections 27 and 28), two dates are indicated—a target date, by which the Company intends to implement each particular change, and a delivery date, beyond which the Company would be in violation of the Agreement if it has not implemented the change. Under the letter of agreement entitled, “Implementation and Transition,” the parties may, by mutual agreement, alter the timelines set forth in this appendix to achieve a smooth transition into the new Agreement.

yes, the implementation index just refers to actual contractual language in the CBA. There is no reference in 25.BB for the SIG to flag pairings as disputed.

They made an error by not pulling the reference out of the index but they did pull the language from the CBA.

Volunteer vs disp pairings

New guy question here. I've got 30 straight days off in Aug/Sep and want to volunteer for a week near the end. I'd like to volunteer for "General Trips", but I don't want to be in a position to get assigned a disputed pairing and obligated to fly it. Can they assign DP's to volunteers and if so, how can I sign up for volunteer and avoid it?

Thanks, Willy

You can select the start date and how long. Also you can provide restrictions (sorry for the lousy format). I don't see a no DP selection. If they give you a trip that meets your volunteer window and restrictions, you have to do it, so be careful out there. You could just enjoy all that great time off!

I agree with the above post. I think your best bet would be to volunteer for specific trips that cover your dates that are in open time. Unfortunately you are then restricted to what is currently in open time when you make the VOL request.

As a brand new MD-11 FO I put on my custom line request 'NO DPs' as my only request, because rumor was they had been assigning them (big no no) to new guys fresh off IOE. I'm sure that was an interesting sight for Mr. Shipman. ;)

The 'DISP' labels are missing from the open time pairings.

Anyone have an idea why?

FDXLAG 08-14-2007 03:05 PM

"They" are still reading our posts here and saw that is wasn't contractually required.:o

KnightFlyer 08-14-2007 03:17 PM

They know many of us are too lazy to look it up.

DiamondZ 08-14-2007 04:14 PM

Rather convenient that the labels are dropped prior to View/Add window opening.

Yes there are black helos hovering around my house as I type...
