Reserve day moving

Reserve day moving
Okay,
You're on a stretch of 6 scheduled R-days (A-reserve just for argument). You need to re-arrange your R-days to better your schedule and would love to add a 7th to the end of your current string. Obviously this can't be done because you would be creating a 1in7 issue.
You get assigned a long trip that has a 48 hour layover right in the middle of your 6 days.
Does anyone one know if the VIPS is "smart" enough to realize you don't have a 1in7 problem anymore and let you move the R day? Or, is it still just going to "see" the 6 R-days and not let you move a 7th on to the end?
I would have tried myself but I thought of it about an hour after the time it was allowed.
Thanks.

Depending on the number of days you move, it may not let you because of 1 in 10 but I am pretty sure that is waverable.. Not sure since I live at the Planet and the chance of me waving anything is.. ZERO.. Dunno?

I'm absolutely positive that it is not smart enough to figure it out on its own. I've been in this situation several times and called CRS about it a couple of times.
Both schedulers I've spoken to about it said it was an issue with the software (no kidding) and neither would excercise the option of overriding the computer on this.

First of all, to know Priscilla is to love Priscilla, but it is tough to really get to know her, however, once you do, she'll be your friend for life. Really!
Secondly, Loni very well could win the Miss congeniality contest, However, she is not the brightest bulb in the box, having been moved from job to job for at least the last 17 years that I'm aware of, and probably a number of years before that. I wouldn't ask her the time of day, and when I had to deal with her, the conversation always went like this: me - dial crew scheduling; Loni - "Crew Scheduling, Loni speaking"; me - CLICK!
Since I've not done reserve in a long time, praise Allah, I don't know the answer to your one-in-seven question, but I do know this: if you don't get an answer from your crew scheduler, ask to speak to one of the scheduling supervisors. Many times they know either the answer, or the reason, the computer won't give you a valid answer. OR, do what lots of us have been doing for a long time..... just hang up and call back in about 12 hours when you can ask another scheduler your question. But also remember this, it's usually easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission.
