FIT,

I don't mean to sound like Krammer, but I had heard about 65% of the folks in ANC are commuting...do you want us to all move to ANC and be your neighbors..well do ya, DO YA !!!! ????? Thats crazy !!! Everyone's crazy.

See ya at AQP...this time keep all the systems in automatic you know what they say about paybacks !

Luckydog,

Since you are junior to me I won't discourage you from coming to ANC. FliFast on the other hand must remain in FL and fly South America trips out of our Cuban base, I mean MIA.

Seriously, the lines this current bid period weren't as good as the previous bid period. However, with the quantity of open time which consist of mostly 3 day trips, it isn't too difficult to make yourself a 3 on 4 off schedule with weekends off (even while being on probation).

It is of no surprise that the commuters hate the three day trips... There is a choice though due to the variety in ANC. 3 day, 4 day, 5 day, 6 day, 7 day and 12 day trips. Plus ALL of the reserve blocks are 15/13. If you are seriously interested in making the change, keep checking the bid packages and see what you can hold!

Are there any out there that like the lines now? Maybe we'll have to wait for winter to hear from the folks that live in ANC, when it's cold, blowing snow and they are back in their igloos!
If you mean "squeaky" as in the majority, I guess so. The majority of the airline commutes however annoying that is to the self-righteous. Add to that the fact that once the domicile is up one year the 60% long block rule will apply. The point is there are two reasons there are so many turns.

1) It reduces soft time and makes the company money.
2) They think they can bully everyone into moving there, ensuring a super reserve to cover trips (albeit at 150/250%) hiring fewer people, paying fewer benefits and slowing movement upward.

Money and control...the only two things UPS management thinks about.
