OK, OK my bad, Didn't realize posting actual names was inappropriate since it would take "secure" access to VIPS in order to get the telephone number and/or e-mails for these individuals flying disputed pairings anyway. Since the names AND pairings have been removed by the moderators I will simply re-post the trips being disputed in the 727 so it will be easier for pilots to access this information before they bid for an open time trip. Hopefully this will help everyone so they will not make the mistake I did once and accidentally pick up a disputed pairing. Also, if a pilot wants to take the initiative and help educate those pilots volunteering for these trips then he/she can do it by accessing VIPs. Our SIG works VERY HARD to try and get these trips removed for OUR safety and volunteering to fly these trips makes it extremely difficult for them. Help them out by not volunteering for these trips.

1-7 for R24,
at some point in time they will give you a call. crappy thing about it is it doesn't knock out a RSV day, and you never really go off call.

As an example, I blocked in one Friday morn about 11 am, gave the scheduler a call and was told I was released for 24 hours.....I expected to see Saturdays RSV day disappear from the calendar and after it didn't, gave my scheduler a call again. And, he said that I could theoretically get a Saturday afternoon trip, but, since I was in a legal rest I didn't have to answer the phone (even though I was still on call) but, if I did, then I was on the hook for the trip.

"Since the names AND pairings have been removed by the moderators I will simply re-post the trips being disputed in the 727 so it will be easier for pilots to access this information before they bid for an open time trip."

Yea, because more people read this site than union emails. You should work for NASA.

I like the idea of posting the names on our alpa page.

Gator you got my support

Thanks to those who gave me their support. Obviously there are some of us that would like things to improve here on the plantation. The optimizer will rear it's ugly head next month in the Mad Dog that should make you very angry. But...unfortunately the contract allows for it (for those of you who thought we were voting in a good contract). The fact that unsafe trips can not be successfully disputed because our peers are flying them also doesn't help our quality of life. The pilots who volunteer their time going over EVERY SINGLE TRIP then fighting with management over these unsafe trips through the disputed pairing process are doing their best to try and make our lives better. If you are voluntarily flying disputed pairings you're hurting every single pilot in this company. To me it's NO DIFFERENT than not being a member at all.
That's it until I figure out how to post these trips on the Members Board.
Fly safe!

Gator for MEC chair.

I agree people shouldn't pick up DPs. Ever. I do wish, however, that people got as fired up over other things as they do over DPs. I think DPs make an easy target - it's a clean kill to go after the guys who pick them up as selfish "me-first" types who are anti-union and want to stab their fellow pilots in the back. Which, for the most part, they are. I think it generates so much enthusiasm because it's one of the things we can ALL agree on. It'd be nice to see everyone get as fired up over MEC representation, the LOA, FDAs, negotiations, or anything else as they do DPs. The same guys who vote for the LOA, fly draft during negotiations, rubberstamp the MEC, or otherwise remain silent about anything and everything will scream bloody murder over guys who pick up DPs. Ironic.
