I think your comment with regard to voting for the LOA and "Flying DRAFT during negoitions" is unfair ... oh yeah ... not true either

I voted for the LOA, for the same reason I don't fly disputed pairings: because my union requested it. Whatever.

The same guys who vote for the LOA, fly draft during negotiations, rubberstamp the MEC, or otherwise remain silent about anything and everything will scream bloody murder over guys who pick up DPs. Ironic.

Alllllrriggght, Now were getting somewhere with a little healthy discussion. I'm with Navy AND The Deuce. Both make valid points and in a lot of ways the same points. Are we fatigued a little after a hard week of hub turns? Anyway...Deuce...getting heated up about people flying DP's is a simple way to show ones displeasure with our peers who decide it's OK to hose every other pilot in this company for some personal gain. What I don't get is how these guys get back slapped, bear hugged, cheeks kissed (sorry that's Borat), etc. when they in our in ops and on the layovers. What they need is to be very sternly told that it's BAD, explained why, and if they still don't care then they should not have a lot of fun and friends here at FedEx. The same goes and in a much larger degree for non-members, pilots who fly draft when it is clearly understood not to do so...heck, it's all been said before. You guys know the drill. Point is...calling out pilots flying DP's is just one little simple easy way to get this ship headed in the right direction. I'm on the boat for the other stuff too. As for caving in on the retirement, the LOA, ALPA communication...not enough words or time here to express. Then again, I'm too lazy to run myself so there-fore I'll just gripe.

What you should have done was find folks who wanted to go to one the new FDAs and asked them how they were voting. All I have met voted NO and are p@ssed it passed. They aren't going now. If you weren't going to bid an FDA you could have "given" your vote to someone who genuinely wanted to go. Instead of throwing your hands up and voting yes becuase you failed to do any research. There was no way the company could have sent folks to the FDAs without more money than we get stateside or in SFS and we barely got any. A better LOA could have been attained. If you are still thinking foreign pilots could have gotten the the work, I don't know what to say. It's obvious that couldn't have happend despite DW's fear mongering that it was possible. Back to topic-- I don't fly DPs either. To support the SIG and improve our schedules. Not just becuase the union says so, but for a reason that was properly explained to me. |
