Any guesses on the ALPA block reps that will volunteer for these senior STV's??

I really like what he's saying ... I hope he can fix them. Good for him for trying (assuming he's serious and really WANTS to fix them).

Maybe the jury is still out on the new SCP and he'll turn out to be watching out for our best interests after all. I say we give him a chance and see what he can do!

It shouldn't matter if he flies it or not. It's disputed, so he shouldn't do it anyway. What's he going to do? Come back and say "I flew trip XXX and it wasn't so bad, the SIG has this one wrong." He'd better not. A better thing for him to do would be to put out an email that says "the SIG is working hard on identifying DPs. All pilots should check their ALPA email address on file, find out what those DPs are, then support the work of their SIG." That would send a better message that he's on our side in this process.

As far as the ALPA resolution, I think a more constructive approach would be to work on figuring out a better way to let guys know which pairings are disputed. AOC postings, locker stuffing, flags on VIPS, etc. For some reason, the emails are not working with 100% success. I continue to read about guys not receiving them or pleading ignorance. I think we should come up with a way that's excuse proof for the guys who choose to fly them.

I emailed ALPA in the early disputed pairing days and suggested that designating at DP's with a "D" prefix (pairing #D123) would make identification of the DP's MUCH easier.

Default All ready gone

MD11 ANC:

22,74,83,86,88,89

#22: Flying 3/4 of the way around the world to SFS before the only reset is much too late to be effective.
#74: Three body clock swaps in five days is excessive. No reset before the hard work.

Trip 22 ANC 11 2Dec
Trip 74 ANC 11 12Nov

Amazing!

Careful here. These trips may be "already gone", but since open time hasn't come out yet, it wasn't thru a voluntary trade. So there is at least one good reason: they've been assigned to Nov secondary line holders. And not by choice.

I know this because one of those numbers now has my name on it.

It's my understanding that the only way a DP can be involuntarily assigned is on reserve...Pilots get assigned DP's on VTO/Secondary lines, before open time is released, because they ask for them.

...but then again, I could be wrong.

Cheers

5. If there are pairings that remain disputed after meeting with
the SCP or his designee, the following process shall apply
to each bid pack which contains disputed pairings for the
immediately upcoming bid period only:
a. If the number of remaining disputed pairings in a
particular bid pack does not exceed 5% of the total
number of pairings in that bid pack, the disputed
pairings shall not be included on bid lines without SIG
approval. Such pairings shall appear in open time and
shall be available for ordinary open time assignment or
for placement on a VTO or custom line if specifically requested by a pilot holding such line.

Well, if you didn't ask for a disputed pairing and you received one on your VTO line, I'd be on the telephone to my ACP immediately. If you go into VIPS, you can call up your secondary line request worksheet and check it again to make sure.
