I think it is a bit disengenuous to accurately tell DW that this LOA is a POS, and then bid it! Though this guy obtained the FDA as a junior guy, he still bid it with a substandard package: exactly like the company predicted. Moreover, how is bidding HKG (given the POS LOA) helping the rest of the crew force who chose overwhelmingly NOT to bid the FDA's becasue they are POS?

More lack of unity in a crew force divided by the very leadership [sic] elected to represent them! And this guy played right along! Makes his arguments to DW rather hollow, don't you think?

It's one thing to not fly DP's in support of unity, but I'm not sure bidding a domicile, and the resultant impact on QOL over a period of years, falls into the same catagory. The aforementioned guy has been forthright about the somewhat shady appearance of his bidding HKG, as he acknowledged in his last email to DW. IMHO, you fight the fight, then if you lose, you just make the best of what you have to work with after the fight's over. Everyone has their own reasons for bidding as they do. Gotta give him credit for at least trying to do something about the LOA before the bid closed.

3P

So is a guy disingenuous if he thinks it is a great package and dosen't bid?

It is not disingenuous (IMO) to say that package is inadequate and then bid it. The problem with the LOA was the people with the vested interest in bidding the FDA's had very little input on the LOA.

What is disingenuous (IMO) is the latest campaign E Mail from a block 2 candidate that talks about how the LOA was negotiated with the intent of maximizing benefits for the entire group. When it already is universally understood that the LOA was targeted at a very small miniority of the pilot group. You don't maximize benefits to the entire group by eliminating the future growth opportunities of 90% of the pilots.
