Default UPS at Ontario

For all you UPS pilots, I was just curious how many of the roughly 2700 of you are based in Ontario? From what i get on these forums, it appears ontario is a small operation. How long would it take to hold a line or go reserve there? Any rumours on any other west coast or mountain hubs? Also, which flights generally have layovers in Hawaii? Thanks in advance!

It's a small operation. I'm gonna say 230 pilots. It's not that unusual for a guy to get ONT fairly easy. After a year, for sure, and even the occasional new hire. Holding a line is another thing, though some reserve lines actually go senior. The junior hard lines are so bad that reserve is better. I just talked to my buddy who I helped get hired a year ago. He's an F/E on the 8 on reserve in SDF. He looked at the ONT lines and said no way he'd want to go to that base. No new hubs or bases. HNL layovers with the ONT base, and some MD11, I think. The HNL lines are built so they are bad for commuters. As such, they don't go all that senior compared to what you might think.
