Are you kidding me?
Anyone else get one of these?
"Per Contract Section 24.E.4 your award from Posting 07-03 is canceled.
Additional information is posted on pilot.fedex.com."
Nothing on pilot.fedex.com as of yet..

Details regarding exactly which awards will
be canceled and which crew positions will be posted are being finalized
and will be communicated shortly, but the following is known at this point:
• Awards to CDG and HKG will not be canceled. In fact, we are going
to add a few captains’ positions to those bases.
• All awards to non-FDA bases will be canceled. Section 24.E.4.
contains rules for canceling awards and for any passover pay that may
result.
• Portions of the DC-10 excess (07-02), which are outside the 30 day
contractual notification window, will be canceled. Within the week, we
will notify those pilots whose DC-10 excess awards are being canceled.
A posting will be out within a week.

What the FCIF does NOT address is the follow:
http://www.reuters.com/article/marke...0071224?rpc=44
Highlights include:
[FedEx] owed more than $319 million [to the IRS] in taxes and penalties for 2002 related to its independent contractor model at FedEx Ground.
Estimates vary for how much FedEx may eventually asked to pay the U.S. Internal Revenue Service -- which is now reviewing FedEx's results for calendar years 2004 to 2006 -- but Credit Suisse analyst Jason Seidl wrote in a research note to clients entitled "FedEx Gets Coal in its Stocking" that the company "could potentially owe nearly $1.5 billion in taxes and expenses when all audits are completed."
Therefore, there is more than just high fuel prices driving this decision and the company is responding accordingly. I think FDX ALPA headed by DW is once again show lacking. DW is looking out for a few rather the the whole and this is as much FDX ALPA's inability to make sound decisions based on business idea rather than union politics as it is the situation described in the FCIF.
This will not be the end!
