How much longer for Mesa?
#1
With all these financial judgments in Hawaii, people leaving in droves, and most likely loss of flying (word is United is getting fed up with Mesa), anyone wonder if Mesa will be able to pull out of this slump? While we all agree (I'm sure) that it is an awful company to work for, I still don't want to see people lose their jobs.

If Mesa looses flying, it will simply be a transfer of flying from one carrier to another. If people do involuntarily have to leave their jobs at Mesa, those who want to continue "living the dream" will likely be able to find work at other carriers.

It will be a while until Mesa has to pay a dime! But that being said it does seem that they are taking big hits, and they will probably string them selves along for a while slowly shipping airplanes over to China or Zimbabwae or somewhere..
Mesa is a cockroach.. but they wont die anytime soon!

We have been trying to get CRJ-900s on property at PSA for a while now. Management has agreed to pay us more, but evidently the union is asking for an unreasonable figure. If the union can ever come to a mutually agreed figure with the company, we will get the 900's and Mesa will be no more with the 900 flying for US Airways. I hope we get them. Seeing Mesa lose more flying and us gain more would be great.

you know the mesa situation kind of reminds me of (any similarities to anyones personal life here is purely coincidental and I mean nothing by it....seriously) an old relative that gets a terminal disease such as cancer and then they opt to try and fight it and they slowly die over a period of three or four effing years and finally just die already. Then at the funeral all the grieving people are like, "well we knew it was just any moment so i have been preparing myself for awhile now" Mesa is doomed, at any moment I wouldnt doubt to see the company broken up and sold off in parts. I think JO is going to steal some "pensions", place them in an offshore account and live out his days with his travelers checks at a competing resort! If your at mesa, just go ahead and save yourself and go to RAH, SKYWEST, AWAC, REGIONAL OF CHOICE, because your going to be working there in a few years anyway. Might as well get a higher seniority number!

It's always nice to note your unfaltering support for those fighting to raise the bar in the industry. I'm sure your fellow PSA pilots appreciate your dedication. In fact, I'm confident that ALPA pilots nationwide will be just thrilled. After all, RJ pilots really are terribly overpaid and we wouldn't want ALPA to try to improve that would we now? Perhaps we should all get together and contribute our December pay checks towards a Christmas bonus for management nationwide. They might even invite us over for a big jug of kool aid.
