4 ABX DC-8-60 series, (might be 5 )
5 ABX DC-9, (at one point there was 19 to 21 )
2 AStar 727-200
These Aircraft are parked on the old-new DHL hub ramp at CVG. There is actually two DHL ramps at CVG. The other is referred to as the old-old DHL ramp. To my knowledge all these A/C are slated, one way or another, for disposal .

Historically, DHL ownership/affiliation has not meant growth or new opportunities for anyone. When they need new lift, they acquire, sign up or start up another carrier.
Unless DPWN changes course, I personally believe that DHL will lose their position in the global market to UPS in the next year or two.
Since my personal future and well-being is yoked to DHL, I certainly hope that they do address these issues and become the powerhouse player they have the potential to be. Time will tell.

Actually, my opinion is that DHL is going nowhere in the U.S. in the near future. From my perspective they have numerous problems, one of them being poor customer service and another one being a hodgepodge of contractors including the air side which is a "network" in name only. Huge inefficiencies.

If Astar doesn't get a fleet replacement plan soon it will be the end of the airline. The 727's will only be flying a few more years.
