Top UPS international layover?
#21
HSLD,
Our MD's don't fly to Narita unless we're on fire or out of coffee.
My favorite since working at UPS of course is Hong Kong. I have been nominated and gracefully accepted the title(s) of:
"King of Kong" and "Mayor of Sticky Fingers"...both are unlimited in duration with limited tax perks.
On the MD11, we fly to Honolulu (HNL) which is a top layover for me. At sunset you start at Duke's, then pub crawl to Moose's, Tsunami, and then the bar across the street, then the weird one on the 2nd story, then finish by going to Jack in the Box (sorry my memory isn't the sharpest by this time of night and after the pub crawl).
But really, a layover is what you make of it and who you're hanging with.
Here's my short list a fav layovers:
HNL, Frankfurt, Vegas, HKG, London (Gatwick/Stansted), Cairo, Tel Aviv, St. Louis, and the Shang (Shanghai)....and anywhere else that I can get really drunk and ride the city bus around and annoy people. (Q10 bus at Kew Gardens in Queens).

Ps. Since you're an MD guy, how is WAW is a layover? Never been there with UPS but have been there many times on my own. Always found Poland to be a really nice and also very pro-American country.

Get back to us when you know for sure.
The only renovation worthwhile in CRK would involve a wrecking ball.
I hope it was a 767. It would be pretty uncomfortable getting pregnant on the 757 JS.

Can't believe I forgot HNL - yes it's one of my favorite layovers too. Unfortunately I keep getting displaced for IOE each time I have a long (3 days) layover there... Well, I don't mind staying home but why wasn't I ever displaced for IOE when I did ONT-DFW-PHX-LAS trips? Huh?

As for the ONT-DFW-PHX-LAS trip.....it has been named the "Bataan Death March" by those of us that have had the good fortune to fly it back to back on more than one occasion. There are usually an abundance of these trips in ONT open time.....I wonder why?

"One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster
The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free
You'll find a god in every golden cloister
And if you're lucky then the god's a she
I can feel an angel sliding up to me"
