I would have to say the weekend layovers at the Holiday Inn Hurstbourne in Louisville are the best in the system.

While on the "eight", I would have to say the best international layover I had was Hamilton.... Second place..er ... last too is Montreal.

There's this place right across from the hotel where you can get an incredible foot massage for like 10 bucks. It's very close to the hotel and the front desk will know what place you're talking about. Worth every penny! ..or fen, jiao, yuan, or RMB...

Just curious, but what else can you do on a layover that long? I'm not just talking about ALA. But if they are long like that, do they ever get boring and you get antsy to get back to somewhere more familiar?

Seems that even with your per diem rates that it would get expensive after a while.

If you're a nerd and like history, like myself, you can always go on sightseeing trips. Last time I was in Osaka I went to see the Osaka Castle, great time!
