To all Fedex pilots:

Yesterday I attended the Bay area ALPA meeting and listen to Captain Webb talk about a hugh list of issues that concerns the pilots and management of Fedex. As a 20 year veteran of Fedex, I seen the good and the bad of what Fedex thinks of its pilots. My next trip which starts in a few days will be flown with my hat on my head. Its our time to step up to the plate. If management sees guys that haven't had a hat on there head for years, it has to send a clear message. We control wants going to happen in the near furture of these negotiations, wear the hat!

Wow! Another golden oldie. I still have every red letter that I've gotten from Fred since I started with the company. I drag them out occasionally to remind myself that I don't work for nice people. I also share them with the new pilots and try to give them some perspective. I also carry a copy of the advisory letter that Watson issued me about 5 years ago. I'd still love to run into him on a layover.

stupid,

I am not a Fedex pilot and do not pretend to everything about what they are dealing with right now. Maybe the pilots are just looking for a fair contract since Fedex posted a 1.45 billion dollar profit in 2005. Seems like they should get a little bit of that back.

I do agree with you that they have great things at that company, but the attitude that you showed in your post is why mgmt. is attacking the workers all over the industry with paycuts or raises that are not worth a damn. "I would do that job for less than that per hour." That is an attitude that you can't bring into this industry.

I think it is ridculous to get wrapped around the axle about were the scope money ends up as long it is a good cause. As long as not a dime goes to retired guys who were non-members.
