Two issues: one is the last practice bid has to fall within 3-7 days of closing. That’s the contract stuff, so we either have to delay it 2 days or have another one after the next one (guess we confused May with February?). Lucky for us we don't have to make that decision because there’s the other issue...software. It still doesn't work correctly. I’d be too embarrassed to keep using it as an excuse if it wasn’t true....and I'm just the messenger. The good news is that now the practice bid will be within the required time period. If they get it figured out, it’ll come out no earlier than Friday and we’ll advertise its existence when it happens. If it isn't out by Monday, the bid closing will be delayed. Good blog fodder for conspiracy theories.

This is getting to be ridiculous. By the time this thing finally closes, the bid for the 777 should be out just in time to change all the training dates again???

 

can someone please explain why we are excessing out of the 727 SO seat? if we are overmanned, why take people out of the lowest paying seat - even if there is no flying for them there? there are just going to be more widebody pilots on reserve, right??

 

They need to excess out of the 727/SO seat so that they can hook up some of the over 60 guys. As dumb as it sounds, I can't think of any other reason....
