But what about the "menu choice"? Where do I find that in the mangled ball-of-twine known as "VIPS"?

Just put HKG A300 F/O in your standing bid, and your next box lunch will be fish heads & rice, communal chopsticks on the side!

For extra credit:

Q: What do you call a dog in the Philippines?
A: Fast!

the only way to fix catering/hotel issues is by submitting Pilot Ops Reports (POR). You can find them on the comp. web site and on the union website. I guarantee that the company pays attention and actually tracks them. If you need more, pm me.

Thank your for your time.

However, this FCIF was delivered to me, and I guess I have until June 11th to fix it.

My question: Where in VIPS do you go to change your menu preferences? AS a seriously junior but PROUD occupant of the back seat of the nefarious three-engined Boeing device...I don't mind the disgusting turd sandwiches. They are 450% better than the shrip scampi and the filet mignon that was placed upon MY 747 by my previous employer, Kalitta Air.

[I was an international wide-body captain before I came to Fedex]

N?

PS: Why is the Fedex catering 4.5 times better than the Kalitta catering? Simple: The most important component of any airliner is the NAME PAINTED ON THE SIDE.

-It occurs to me that some of you could probably do well to realize just how god-damn good you have it~

Either under General Info and click catering or type "catering" in the search window on the front of VIPS. If your flights are eligible for international catering, the fight numbers should automatically come up.

I do not believe there are any standing menu choices. You need to go in to the Vips/ trips and services menu before every international trip to select. Domestically you are at the whim of whoever makes the box lunches. As one who cannot stand hardboiled eggs, I can sympathize, but the longest domestic flight is EWR-OAK and I think I can get by on the cereal and yogurt if I need to.

I think us FredEx guys know how well we have it, compared to most others. Having said that, when something aint right, we have to whine about it. Otherwise, we wouldnt be real pilots! And besides, it feels good.

VIPS, trips and services and finally the services submenu has an international catering option. You order under that script. And there is no "standing order" option since the catering varies from country/country, city/city. The system drops your order if something as simple as an airplane swap or a scheduled time change occurs. As much as I like having the chance to order, sometimes it doesn't seem like it's worth the effort.

I love egg sandwiches. But the tuna sandwiches out of NRT are the best in the system, as far as I'm concerned. And the whale burgers!

We used to have an early morning SEA-OAK-EWR sequence that onlly got a BS in OAK, which usually consisted of a bagel, cereal, grapes and yogurt. By the time the gear was up coming departing OAK the eyelids got super heavy (more than usual ). Made for a brutal flight to EWR if you didn't think to bring extra with you from the SEA layover. Crews providing feedback got it changed and I think they put on a more substantial meal coming out of OAK.
