I'm able to do the same, at just over 90%, if I so chose!

Sat on the crew bus with a very senior SIBA Capt recently. Does SIBA reserve, never gets called, sits at home, max carry over and protects it, picks up an occasional trip from open time. Said he did 450 last year!

Hey don't get me into this. I fly less block hours than anyone on this board. Living in Memphis and not needing to drink every day I sit reserve almost everyday. I do bid carryover and conflict that with r-days and pick up CIA trips (to stay current) I do not fly and protect carryover flying. If the company wants to pay me to sit at home I'm up for that.

Make more for doing less the American dream...

Thanks guys for substantiating my comments on my original post of this thread. It's not all about seniority, but about domicile vs non-domicile habitation, and the benefits of living in-base. Seniority certainly plays a part, but less so than living in base, or more specifically, Memphis. The other bases have less flexibility, especially ANC. As well, if you really want to "share the pain", than we should be limiting the companys use of flex guys and other schoolhouse personnel, so that a Boeing Captain flexing (as an example, because all jets have these perks), cannot make upwards of $400K.

I have asked specifically at an MEC meeting about "sharing the pain," so to speak. I asked, if carryover and/or volunteer is eliminated in order to save jobs, would it be voluntary or mandatory? I was told it will be mandatory. There won't be an option. (Assuming the union and the company come to this agreement.) Basically, it would come down to a credit hour cap and minimum days off required. (Because, of course some trips will start in one bid month, and end in another. It just means other trips in those month will have to be dropped.) This would also keep guys from going over the max with general Make Up.

However, DRAFT seems to be a different animal. Even in our contract, if pilots are on furlough, you can be drafted. You just can't volunteer for it. So brace yourselves.... for the sell-outs, wh***s, and guys with buddies in the scheduling department to soak it all up.

I would want carryover to be eliminated before we have to go down to 48 credit hours.
With this system, how would someone who lost hours one month due to mil leave make up hours in another? Would you want them to be capped also, or expect them to make it up in the same month they lost it?

Watch my schedule I'll be assigned Zero hours by the company this month. Not one hour. If they want to pay me 119 hours to do nothing who am I to argue. I'm just a pawn.
