01 Jan 09 are all the LCAs and flex pilots that are put at the end to qualify them to move when they're ready. In some cases, these guys are getting passover pay for the seat listed on the training letter.

The fact that the training letters are all bogus needs to be addressed by the Union, how are guys suppossed to make informed decisions??? A lot of us Capt and FO's alike are going to be looking at significant DECREASES in pay and QOL, and they put out some bogus training letter?? Albie?? Bueller??
This is just the first excess, don't be fooled there will be another when all 70 MD11 FO's and 40 Capt's pile on the bus also, a lot of other people will be affected than what is indicated on this particular bid...

That's not the training letter associated with this bid, it's the one that excesses all the ND's out fo the 27 SO seat we're excessing back into...
This one will be published when the bid closes. That's when we'll know what past decisions are really going to cost us, and who will be paying the price! We already know who's not paying the price.. check the current training letter.

I posted this on another thread, but it makes sense. Just not really well executed...
727 S/O getting passover pay for 727 FO. Get awarded 757 FO. Then get excessed back to the 727 SO seat (never left) but now passover gets taken away.
That way, the junior folks keep flying the panel, but now everyone gets paid for the seat the occupy. (Nugget program cancelled, pay stabilized, nobody getting top engineer pay anymore.)
Still no furloughs, still have a job, but a significant pay cut may be in the cards.

Think you're wrong nugget. It's about seat ACTIVATION not what's awarded. Those pilots causing PO pay need to get activated in the seat to cause the loss. Although, I think the company is doing what it can to make that happen.
So, even though you're awarded 75, the 72 fo's behind you need to be awarded and activated in 72 to loose the pay.

BB, my understanding is "yes". If, for example, 20 of the MD-11 FOs being excessed decide to go the the Airbus and are senior enough to hold it, the company will add 20 to the 40 Airbus FOs already being excessed and now excess 60. Same thing could happen with a MD-11 or Airbus CA, or even a senior 727 FO who decides he wants to be a MEM Airbus FO.
