Default Cannot be surprised......

199 Wide-Body Excess listed in the FCIF and 199 "new" 727 S/O.

This is a realignment of seniority, per the Hub Turn Meeting last night. At least we have an idea versus guessing.

FWIW, a training letter with that many events/cycles PLUS the training letter from 08-01 will take years. If the economy turns positive, then (per the Meeting last night) there *might* be a different bid posted in the future.

I think we are understanding what many of our customers are already experiencing, a huge downturn in business.

Didn't someone once state that FedEx is a barometer for the U.S. economy?

There doesn't seem any reason to me to realign all of these seats except to set up for a furlough in the future. The practice bid wasn't pretty, that's for sure. Hopefully it won't change all that much so we can all quit feeling jerked around.

No way in hell the powers that be are going to allow 450 flight engineers on a disappearing aircraft....

Reduction in BLG is next and "F Lo" (not to be confused with J Lo) is on the horizon. Otherwise there is no reason to do what we are doing, plain and simple. Pay no attention to what the man behind the curtain says, his actions are what's important.

HKG is filled. That was the intent.

Training letter comes out. All hkg awardees are first with a sizable gap between their training and others. After they are activated, cancel the award for the rest. Can't read the contract closely quickly enough to see if its legal, but it seems Machiavellian enough.

Furlough? Maybe. It would be interesting to see how they would staff HKG with only 15 or so F/Os though.
