Default Reserve Day Reduction?

If BLG is reduced to 48 hrs, will the number of reserve days also be reduced proportional to that amount? Currently with 68 hrs min, it works out to 4.5 hrs/day. Working 15 days for 48 hrs is about 3.2 hrs/day. In referencing the contract, it doesn't appear that this issue was addressed. Seems to me that 10 days (4.8 hrs/day) or 11 days (4.36 hrs/day) would be more equitable. Any thoughts or opinions?

I think the value of an R day would fall below 4 hrs.

Why? Because they can. The company interprets the contract to their advantage.

The Union is supposed to protect us against abuses such as this..... Sorry, I just made myself laugh.

A negotiator should be able to read and understand legal language (or use his legal staff) to get appropriate verbiage in the contract. We have that now with FE. Didn't have it before

If this is the case, I'm pretty sure reserve will "go junior".

I suppose that the flex instructors would be working for less pay/day also.

I would think that everyone on the seniority list, regardless of position, would need to share the pain.

LCA's bidding pay only have some protection but as far as I know FLEX do not have any reduction under the CBA.

b. When assigned flight duties in an aircraft (other than fl y
days), the maximum number of duty days on an LCA’s
schedule shall be determined by dividing his pay only BLG/
RLG (plus up to 5 days of carryover if bid) by 6 CH rounded
to the nearest whole number. Beginning with the January
2008 bid period, his pay only BLG/RLG shall be divided by
6:24, but the minimum number of duty days shall be 12 (15
in 5 week bid period).

No, no. If the BLG's were reduced, the value of the R-day doesn't change. You just work fewer days. Also, a trip still pays 6 hrs and is not
reduced. These hours are contractual and don't change with respect to BLG/RLG changes. We'll just work fewer days.

I don't think so purple. As a resreve guy the contract says 15, 19 days per month not 4.5 Hrs per day
