FDX - ZED fares/eligibility
Any FedExers know whether we are eligible for the ZED program and what the company password is? Discount ZED airline fares to Hawaii, Vancouver, Orlando, Las Vegas, and Bali(don't post password, just tell me how to get it from company website).
I called Global Travel and they hadn't heard about the program, and I can't get onto the mainframe because I have Windows Vista. I've heard great things about ZED from my passenger-airline buds, just want to see if it's available to us....

It's my understanding that, no, we don't get ZED fares through the interline network.
However, for standby/space available travel, many airlines do give discounts. (Southwest-$35, JetBlue-$25, NWA-ID90 type discount, etc.)
Find these, by logging onto VIPS-->Forms-->Personal Travel.
Besides the airlines that offer the fixed-fare, (SWA, JetBlue, AirTran, Frontier,) you need to fill out the "How much?" form and submit (e-mail) to Global Travel. They will e-mail you a response within the day usually. Then fill out the "Buy it" form.
Keep in mind, that although ZED and ID90 type fares are usually good on paper, you are space available, usually at a class at the bottom of the list.
Hope that helps.

When I asked this question as a new hire, the answer was that we are not eligible. Ask anyway, maybe you'll get a better answer!
I also asked about ID75 and ID90 agreements, and the process seemed like such a PITA that I never pursued it. The agreements are out there though.

If you ever saw Pulp Fiction you'll remember Bruce Willis telling his girlfriend when she asks who's Zed, he says "Zed's dead honey, Zed's dead". He had some heavy pipe hitting ........ come on over and get medevial on his as.
