Asia Pacific couldn't fly their way out of a paper bag! How they were allowed to get ETOPS after all their incidents engine failures and mystery "diversions" is stupefying. I know a several other airlines that got ETOPS along with a new type going in less than 6 months. Come on NAC. It's not like you guys haven't done this before. Aloha pioneered 737 ETOPS back in the 1980's and 1990s. Just put some of them on the project, problem solved.

The 767s. Are they gonna be based in HNL, ANC or somewhere else?

Almost the exact opposite happened. Aloha was getting everything prepared for the ETOPS Certification and for whatever reason it was yanked away last summer and sent to NAC. From what I understand it was 90% complete, but everything had to be restarted. They are finally back to where Aloha was 8 months ago. It will eventually get done, but Its gonna take a lot longer than it should.

What are the junior bases? Is LAX obtainable out of training?

LAX isn’t even a base.

It's listed as a base on the most recent job post. Or is that just the airports served?

I wouldn't put much stock into what NAC lists on their job postings as "bases". The company does whatever it wants on any given day, with no regard for past promises or the lives of employees that are affected.

No union. No enforceable contract. NAC pilots serve at the whim of ownership. What if your company is looking to buy an existing certificate with current and qualified 767 pilots? You guys better be getting organized!
