Let's not let this one get out of control. Feel free to discuss, but please keep it civil. Thanks!

We're all here primarily to discuss the piloting profession; we all share in the good and the bad that this industry has to offer. Please use the "good neighbor" policy when posting to this site. If you wouldn't say it to your neighbor face to face, than don't say it here (and we are talking about a hypothetical neighbor that you like and respect, not necessarily your current neighbor).

I guess we'll see how good our scope clause (that we gave up money for in negotiations) is since unlike you, our primary contract (that being our own dedicated volume) isn't going out of business and is making nearly $1 billion net profit as opposed to huge losses. Yup...just business .

My guess is that ANA is dropping ABX and will instead be code-sharing with UPS.

The ATSG stock price indicates that ABX is likely closing the doors at the end of November. Best of luck to all the ABX pilots.

According to APC, the ABX/ANA ACMI agreement is up in January 2010 - just a little over a year away. Unfortunately (and I mean that sincerely) I don't think this is good news for ABX crews.

It's not great for UPS either, but codeshares are common in pax flying.

Our contract with DHL is cost plus pretty hard to just close the doors when we are still having all our bills paid, we still have a contract with DHL until they pull out and we are making money! I agree our mgt. are complete idiots but then are not that stupid. They will milk DHL as long as the bills are being paid.

If there is any way to reduce UPS flight in Asia using ANA even at the expense of, believe it or not UPS pilots UPS will do it! P.S. for what it is worth ABX is adding another city in ASIA in Nov. Maybe we will be hauling UPS freight?

Don't play coy with me. Most of us on here from UPS have tried to be supportive of what may be happening to you guys at DHL. Yet, you come on here and whine and try and start crap constantly. It's getting old.

A January '08 article...
ABX Air, All Nippon Airways Extend ACMI Agreement | Business Wire | Find Articles at BNET ...
...describes the ANA ABX ACMI deal. Reading that, you wonder if UPS isn't attempting to grab ABX customers just like it is with DHL customers. Further speculation: If the new UPS deal with ANA is like the ABX deal--if there is any connection at all--it means flying for UPS. We're definitely going to need the union to ask some questions on this new deal.

Looks like the deal goes both ways. Probably a net gain/loss of 0.
