Any purple pilots out there feeling a little "bluesy".
Normally, I'm a positive, happy kinda-o-guy. But I've been reviewing some facts of history lately.
FDX pilots did not receive any pay raise from 1989 until 1998 (nearly a 30% paycut when factored w/ a 3% annual inflation rate.)
Contract #1 was concessionary and with 7ch to 6ch MPPD, it was a pay cut.
Contract #2 was a COLA pure a simple. 3% pay raise (avg inflation rate) equals a COLA.
Then the DW age 60 fiasco.
LOA 1 & 2 gaffs.
No apparent pay raises for 757 or 777. Even though they are huge productivity advances for company in savings in crew costs, fuel savings, less landing fees (no stop in ANC), later cutoff times for customers because airplane doesn't waste 2+ hrs in anc with fuel and crew changes. (anyone remember from "Flying the Line 1" how pilots got a substantial pay raise? .....Answer, Productivity gains in flying jets vs props. Bigger airplanes flying further in same amount of time.
NC getting canned.
I see us like lamb going to the slaughter house for our next contract. No unity, inexperienced and ineffective leadership, and potential bad economy (I pray the economy comes back in less than year and a half). But so far, my prayers haven't been answered.
anybody else feel my pain?

Need to know what your talking about on the 7 to 6 CH change as a pay cut. The pay rates were increased to compensate for the rig change then the raises were applied to the new rate....
Past....
