DHL has invested millions, and millions at ILN, and they still have access to a ramp and sort building (with equipment) at CVG--don't know if it is lease or own. But, it would astound me if they were seeking to lease/buy space at DAY. However, they have already astounded me a number of times--so YMMV.

What's up with Astar going after Polar and it's 747s? Heard they want to do DHL's international flying. Good luck to all of you in ILN dealing with DHL.

Browntail--I've seen that rumor on internet boards, but never heard it through ABX channels. Plenty of rumors to go around, only a few ever turn into anything LOL. we'll just have to wait and see. Good Luck to you guys in getting your contract settled.

Huh?
I work here and havent heard that. I dont think anybody would need to buy Polar to get its 747's when they could just as easily buy their own and get route approval on their own too.
But if that were true, it still wouldnt make a diff, it seems like the buyers never take the employees.

Hi IntheBiz

I'm just curious..........Do you work for Polar/Atlas?

Do you guys have a merger successorship clause in your contract?

Default both, technically

I'm in the middle mgmnt/mx dept. in hdq.
as I hear it, officially, our merger is still going on an dthey are working with MEC's to get the seniority list merged. How you guys work that out is anyone's guess. I know just from experience how seniority is fiercely defended.
Its sensitive around here about that and thats why its moving along so slow.
After all, we did buy Polar. As some other poster said, we will be surrenduring the Atlas cert. and using the Polar cert. with both brand names remaining the same for the different markets we use.
And, as the Polar pilots get furloughed, they will have recall rights for the combined seniority list.
