Thumbs down FDX - The 68%'s have doomed us all!!!!

As a 32% of mass hysteria, I would like to state that the new power DW has can doom us all. If I read it right in his latest Chairman message...we are about to get hit by the train! There is no time for a LOA...I want to throw the BS flag right now! Please call you reps right away and tell them to not let anything happen with out it being brought to the membership. This is a complete cop out by our union leadership. I don't care if they have special info that we don't have, we all need to see it before we take it in the shorts.

Good point! I'm grabbing my ankles for this latest bit of representation from our leaders. I'd call my rep but I'm not sure who it is, my base IS but isn't closed.

Here is a question, can anyone (the union) come out with some numbers of how much we are saving by the fuel sense stuff in addition to the everyday savings we are responsible for but not recognized?

Default C'mon man get real.

We all get it, no one likes DW, he may not even like himself these days, but that doesn't mean that people should stop using their heads. The company has things it wants, things none of us are probably interested in. They are more willing to take it from us too if we decide to let our frustration over DW and the MEC distract us from things that have nothing to do with that. Yes, I say that full well knowing that he brought us Age 65 retro among other things. They are trying to test our hearts and minds, please at least read what was written and think for a minute. Or at least remember that the only unilateral powers DW has relate to the 2nd FDA LOA which this is far outside the realm of and are limited in scope in the first place. Let's not play ourselves here.

Additionally, notwithstanding the fact that we have been trying for a year to get them to begin to address this issue incrementally, they insist there is no time for a LOA and member ratification process.
We hope to have a clear picture of what steps management intends to take by then and will be discussing them with you through various means.

That's not something the union should be putting out publicly right now, and if you look at recent events, it's not something we should be discussing at all in any way shape or form on any public forum(and that includes the ALPA boards).

They already talk about it in RGS. Last I heard we're saving the company over 2 million bucks a month in Fuel Sense. They buyup is costing them 1 million. That's a 1 million net we're saving them. With fuel costs going down, I'm not sure what impact the good will of the pilots will or won't have. But, it's not up to me when to start the APU or when to add gas. If it were, I'm sure my opinion on the matter would change sometime around February 01.

I only see a problem with the statement of "without member ratification". Sounds like they want to avoid furlough to a strong degree, whats the problem with that?

We ask that you refrain from engaging in the “blame game,”

Ya, because then you'd realize DW is to blame. Hmmm, let me think, how could we have ended up with an overabundance of pilots on the property? Couldn't possibly be anything to do with DWs involvement in that legislation that went through last year.....nahhh.

I never said it was a secret, just that neither we nor ALPA should be talking about it on any kind of forum, e-mail, etc.

FF,

You're making my point for me. I suggest everybody read this, think about it, and **** about this on these forums, emails or anything like it.
