I don't know about you guys... but I'm working hard to pay for the $170m inauguration bill!

Just think... the cost of one day of holding hands and singing kumbaya is equal to about 1/55th of what a professional pilot can expect to make in a lifetime (of constantly working for 45 years).

And AA, to answer your question, NO, I don't teach my mentee any fighter pilot songs, hell, I don't remember many of them myself. I do teach him: respect for others; to look people in the eye when talking or listening to them; to try to be nice to all his classmates; to stand up when saying the Pledge of Alleigance; and most importantly, to not look up girls dresses, or at least, not to get caught looking up girls dresses.
That's admirable what you are doing with the children. Maybe you can show Obama how to stand up straight and PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART when the Pledge is said.

Charity and altruism are certainly admirable.

Socialism is not. If he 'points' us there, great. If he 'takes' us there, grreeeeaaaaatttttttttt.......

"A thousand points of light...." Boy, where have I heard that? (Oh yeah, SNL) Is that where his fans think Oboma is going to try to direct this country, or will it be the big spotlight from Washington turning on and mandating that charity for us?

JJ - admirable the work you're doing. Similar things being done in downtown Memphis (Street Ministries comes to mind). Altruism and charity are what we need much more of.

I personally think we've swung way to far in the direction of all the little piglets suckling the huge sow called our federal government to ever swing back towards anywhere near what our government was designed to be.

'Course, I don't think we're going to furlough, also (gotta put something in here about aviation, I guess)

Nice try...the inauguration was paid for by private donors.

What started out as a FedEx-related discussion has slowly evolved into political discussion that is well beyond the scope of aviation. Thread closed.
