FedEx crewmember pins on B. General Stars
Today at about 4 P.M., at the Connecticut Air National Guard's dining hall & base meeting facility, a ceremony was held for B-727 S/O Rick M. Employee Number 639890. By direction of the President of the United States, Rick was promoted to the grade of Brigadier General. In attendance were his family, close friends, and ex-squadron mates, along with another 300 or 400 people, both military as well as civilian, whose lives have intertwined with Ricks' along the way. Of course, most of us were there for the free chow and booze, which was served after the pinning ceremony. and of course it was great to see so many old friends and squadron mates, and to hear firsthand how things are going at Delta, American, Continental, and United.
If you get a chance, look him up and say congrats, it's not every day someone reaches such lofty heights.

Very cool.
A lot of those "weekend warriors" have given a lot of their lives the since 9/11, and epitomize the whole citizen soldier concept. Its tough to serve so many masters, and the guys who do it well have earned a lot of respect.
Kudos to those who have achieved such milestones, and thanks to all of you who continue to serve.

And he'll happily hook you up! Rick or shall we say "Bacchus", is one hell of a guy. I'm sure he was happy to provide the free booze. I had the pleasure of being in class with him it's good to know that some organizations promote the right people and not the tools which is all too common today.
