Default FDX-Excess Bank Money

Hey guys,

I have recurrent training next month and was wondering if you can use your left over bank money to buy a ticket to get to recurrent training. Contract talks about being able to use the bank within 3 days of a scheduled "activity", but refers to the bank as "deviation", which I don't think I'm doing if I'm just trying to get up to ANC for CMV 1. Thanks for the help. I got tired of being on hold with Crew Travel for over 20 minutes!

I have used excess bank money to get to training events many times (but it was before the "new" Fox Expense Reporting system ... so who knows now?) ... seems like an easy question to email your ACP about. If they give you the answer you want in writing, you're golden

You can use your deviation bank money to get to any event, training included, within three days of the event. (So you can't use your bank to go to Anchorage for vacation.) If you want to use the previous month's bank, the event must be within 3 days of the end of the last month. Note, if you do use the money to come to training, you would have to check the block for taxable travel, the same as if you used your bank to go to Anchorage for the start of a trip. ie. you're not really "deviating" to start a trip, just using bank money to get to your domicile.

Some of this is not necessarily strictly spelled out in the contract, but that's pretty much how it works.

Agree with all, I would add that when you call corp travel they will ask you for the pairing number and just tell them "training" and they note it on the file. Other than being taxable it is a great benefit to use bank money in this manner.
