No offense Albie but;
To me it says contact your Rep. If the LOA voting record is any indication don't count on your Block Rep to represent their block, especially block 7 & 8. But maybe the block heads are gone.:( |
Finally, a clear unmistakable direction from our Union:
"...Until we achieve economic enhancements to the HKG FDA, the prudent course of action remains to bid a HKG position on the excess bid only if it suits your needs under the terms of the existing LOA..." I wish all the union comm was that clear. |

Is this letter referring to our upcoming negotiations in 2010?
Because I'm confused if it is in reference to some negotiations going on regarding 09-02 which is the title of the update. What negotiations would these be? I will say, I don't see any negotiation going on. It takes two parties to negotiate, and for all intent and purpose all the NC and MEC are doing is offering solutions that the company is ignoring. The company attitude, "It's your CBA we'll interpret it this way...grieve it." I don't think they are at all interested in looking at a Global Solution, but are happily watching us chase our tails. I do have deja vu after reading this update. Alot of inevitability being conveyed here...feels just like the MEC accepting age 65 as inevitable and taking the 'we might as well accept it and have some input to it's implementation' viewpoint... although I guess we'll get to vote on whatever is negotiated this time. |

I actually got a laugh out of that statement. Kind of self incriminating. The enhancements should have been achieved in the original LOA, before it was put to vote. (I know JG was not there then.) Oh well...hindsight I suppose.:rolleyes: Unfortunately, using hindsight, collectively we still make many wrong decisions.

That letter made me kind of sick to my stomach. I'm in the bottom 300 and that communication definitely did not inspire confidence in my union to do everything possible to protect my job.
I don't feel good about this....... At any rate, if we get sold out that doesn't bode well for the future.(Just remember what happened to the APA after those that endured the B Scale came to power) |

I got the same feeling when I read this (bottom 200 myself). :( I sure hope we are misreading this. I've been one who thinks it very, very unlikely that the company furloughs (caveat -unless the economy gets much worse than it is)
At any rate, if we get sold out that doesn't bode well for the future.(Just remember what happened to the APA after those that endured the B Scale came to power) Is that a threat? Nice...:rolleyes: |

Nice...:rolleyes: My comment is just a reminder of reverberations for the future depending on how the NC handles the situation. Why would I make a threat to the guys that'll be buying me beer.:D |
