We ALL are taking a pay, some might take 100%, while others hardly feel it!

I almost hate to dignify your reply with a response but ... I'm taking a 6 hour pay hit with 4.a.2.b (6 x 238/hr = $1428/mo. That's more than $17,000/yr!). I'm sorry if you don't feel that's significant and that I wont feel it, I do (I'm still in my f/o house, still married to the first wife, don't own any expensive toys).

Maybe unlike many at FedEx, I've been furloughed. You've got a lot of nerve telling me about how some will be taking a 100% pay hit. Fortunately, I had a working wife, I was still in the Reserves and I had marketable job skills and I was able to land a VERY GOOD non flying job ... I was lucky.

It's thanks to guys like me that you're not living in a cardboard box under a bridge right now, telling your mentally ill buds how you used to be an airline pilot. I ALWAYS buy the first round of beers ... rest assured, if I can figure out who you are, you'll be eating alone.

Actually guys, its not any one of us harming the other one right now.

The company is not paying us the BLG. If a furlough were to occur, it would not be done by pilots to pilots, it would be done by management.

Stressful times create tension between groups. If you want to exacerbate that tension and give lots of ammo to those working to fracture us, keep blaming other pilots. If you want to work through this together, and survive for the long haul, then maybe you need to count to 10, step back from the computer, and take a walk.

There are no winners in this game right now. Conversely, too much sniping and we can all end up losers. Focus on those who brought us to this point, not on the pilot to the left, right, or rear seat...

Do you remember that scene in "The Wizard of Oz" where the guards around the temple of Oz moved out of the place en mass and hummed "BO HICA....BO HIIIICA!"

I for one would simply like to see these messages from the NC and MEC written in plain english. I can make better sense out of the O-grams than I can out of these gobblygook missives from the head shed.

Is it really that complicated? I read that message and I really have no idea what the hey they are talking about. Some plain language specifics would sure be nice.

The fear is not whether the company will follow the contract. I have no doubt they will. It may be a different interpretation than we would like but they will follow the contract. The fear is; will our union will follow the contract. If the company needs relief and comes to the union, I have no doubt the Block 1 guys will through the junior guys under the bus to keep the bid lines up. Look at the last contract, who had the most influence on the contract, based on the outcome.

mark, chill....All i was saying is that if they, the company, furloughs then BLG's would probably come up. With the carryover game, some do very well, while other will have NO paycheck. I know it is part of the industry. I to have been let loose from an airline as well. Ive been crawling my way back up and havnt had enough time to dig out debt. I do feel your loss of pay is significant, the same way my own way is significant. I know I am not alone in this and did not mean to disrespect anyone. Thanks for the vent.

Wow! And I thought I was being a jerk on here the other day! By the way, your paycut was not voluntary. It was part of a contract that over 90 percent of us approved. Did you vote yes for it? I did. You did know 4A2b was in there, right? Maybe we should read the 2010(2011?2012?) contract a little more closely. Myself included. I take responsibility for voting yes in 2006 without reading it as closely as I should have.
