FDX-New NC message up.
|
More good news. Great.

Does this mean that they (ALPA) will furlough to protect the income of the senior?
|
That letter made me kind of sick to my stomach. I'm in the bottom 300 and that communication definitely did not inspire confidence in my union to do everything possible to protect my job.
I don't feel good about this....... |

Unless ALPA has a no-furlough or scope clause that they waive ahead of a furlough, the union does not furlough you the company does. The union(and individual pilots) can subsequently do a series of things that could prolong a furlough that can be considered as protecting the senior, but we obviously aren't at that point.

Duplicate message, user error :)

Is this letter referring to our upcoming negotiations in 2010?
Because I'm confused if it is in reference to some negotiations going on regarding 09-02 which is the title of the update. What negotiations would these be? |
Classic signaling between negotiators.
The message was intended for the company, as much as it was intended for us. They are reaching out to offer a comprise, and perhaps solutions, to multiple issues. It would behove all involved to sit down, listen, and work together. If the company can get the right people in the right seats at the right price, perhaps both costs and jobs can be saved --- and FDX better positioned for the future. |
