Granted, this economic landscape is the worse many have seen. However, this is not the first time the airline industry has been hit hard. Memories of the 80s, building first home with interest rate 16% and praying it would go down before closing - it did - settled with 12%, then one month after moving in, 2 day after Christmas, mailman rings the door with registered letter - furloughed. Then getting called back only to realize company would be furloughing again - but was "lucky" enough to get a temp job in Africa for a year so that someone below me would still be working. Then the company went bankrupt. Human nature to feel that when it affects you, it must be worse. As Truman said, "It's a recession when your neighbor loses his job; it's a depression when you lose yours." Unfortunately, there are too many similar stories out there.
