Funny you should mention that ... I had the exact same question about another pilots' death (not killed in a plane crash) and I emailed Flight Management about it. I was reprimanded and told I had a lot of nerve (truth be told, I was told I had a sick morbid interest in the schedule of this dead pilot!)? I was informed that management does that to make certain that CRS doesn't call their homes looking for them (to which I thought to myself that management does a REALLY good job blocking all company records after an accident, wouldn't that be a better way to handle this situation?).

This comes up everytime something out of the ordinary happens. I don't know what the big deal is. I don't see it as being insensitive at all. By the time this is all over their calendars will be gone. Would you rather they put DECEASED across the calendar? It's just a word management/schedules can use to stop meaningless inquiries...
