Funny you should mention that ... I had the exact same question about another pilots' death (not killed in a plane crash) and I emailed Flight Management about it. I was reprimanded and told I had a lot of nerve (truth be told, I was told I had a sick morbid interest in the schedule of this dead pilot!)? I was informed that management does that to make certain that CRS doesn't call their homes looking for them (to which I thought to myself that management does a REALLY good job blocking all company records after an accident, wouldn't that be a better way to handle this situation?).

There is a reason I don't call buds homes after this happens. I'm glad I held to that rule tonight.
Both good guys -- friends as well as brothers. My prayers are with them and the families.

This comes up everytime something out of the ordinary happens. I don't know what the big deal is. I don't see it as being insensitive at all. By the time this is all over their calendars will be gone. Would you rather they put DECEASED across the calendar? It's just a word management/schedules can use to stop meaningless inquiries...

I'm not going to debate this with you and take away from our two brothers we lost today. There has to be a more respectful way to honor them as fallen than what we are doing. The company can sanitize every detail about the flight/aircraft/pairing, etc... I am sure they can do better.

RIP Flt. 80

Yep, I confirmed that earlier on the Airops section in the green screen - on at 2145z, no in time! The Maint History is gone for 526 a well!
