Is it possible when something like this happens to start two threads, one for speculation and similarity to other accidents and the other for reflection on the individuals. I found a lot of comfort reading the post about my uncle when news of his death reached these boards, but was also irritated as people speculated when the family didn't have enough information to speculate. That said people are going to guess what happened as they need to, its just not appropriate around the friends and family who are mourning.

<OK, I agree we can all learn from this. That's for another forum. But to what purpose does it serve to show over and over again the death of two of our brothers?>

I haven't had that video thrust into my view against my will, I only see it if I click on the link. I recommend that you avoid opening the link if it bothers you. Don't deny me the ability to learn from it.

According to the FCIF this afternoon our fallen brothers will be on flights 1416 and 1480 for their final journeys home. The SAT flight 1416 is scheduled to arrive at 0512 CDT. The PDX flight 1480 is scheduled to arrive at 0515 PDT.

I live near SAT now and I'm going to do my best to be at the ramp Thursday morning.

Default Turn at OAK

Just wondering who will going to the ramp for the turn at OAK today. I will be out there to pay respects during the two hours it's on the ground. Thanks, Mark.

As a fellow ANC pilot and friend of the fallen, I will be there to pay my respect.

I just finished meeting with the ramp mgr here in PDX and it will be very nice for my friend when he comes home. Another capt and I called around and we will have about 14 guys there at 0400 waiting for the A/C to arrive.

Make sure your wife/ significant other has your HELP Code and make sure they have good numbers to call. I've been flying SAT all month, and talked to the Ramp Agent this morning about this. I'll avoid details, but with the internet and instant news, your significant other need to be able to get info.
